- Location: Hamma Desalination Plant is located on «Les Sablettes» site, in Hussein-Dey District, Belouizdad Municipality, Algiers.

- Owner: Hamma Water Desalination Spa «HWD».

- EPC Contractors:
   * Orascom Construction Industries Algeria OCIA (Construction).
   * Orascom Construction Industries & Besix LLC (Engineeringand Equipment supply).

- Operator: GE Infrastructure Water Process and Technologies Algeria «GEIWPTA».

- Investment: 257 Millions USD.

- Process: Reverse Osmosis with Energy Exchanger.

- Production Capacity: 200,000 m3/day of drinking water.

- Configuration:
     * 9 modules of 25,100 m3/day per unit production, 8 in service and 1 standby.
     * 288 units PX Energy Recovery Exchangers.

- Completion Dates:
     * Engineering and Development: 18 months
     * Construction: 26 months

- Inauguration: by His Excellency the Algerian Republic President Mister Abdelaziz BOUTEFLIKA: on 24 February 2008.

- Industrial commissioning: April 2008.

- Man-power: 61 persons - Algerian employees.

- Main Contracts:
     * Finance Agreement: OPIC, HWD and CITIBANK N.A.
     * Water Sales and Purchase Agreement: A 25 years contract between HWD and SONATRACH - ADE and GE IONICS HAMMA HOLDING (IRE) Ltd as the Investor.
     * Operation and Maintenance Agreement: HWD and GEIWPTA.
